MultiService Access and Backbone Solution for Industrial and Telecom Operators

SparkLight is a compact, powerful, high-density and user-friendly, next generation SDH multiservice node for provisioning of PCM (voice, data), PDH (E1, E3), SDH (STM-1, STM-4, STM-16) and Ethernet (FE, GbE) over SDH.

Used as an add/drop multiplexer on the SDH ring (or as a terminal multiplexer at the remote site), the SparkLight product line improves Ethernet bandwidth efficiency via GFP, VCAT and LCAS protocols and also supports TDM mapping for termination at any point in the SDH network.

"Not true" is the tag for which experienced stubborn engineers fully have the right to attach to the wide spread hype that "IP communications have wiped out everything else". We, at Iskra, are deeply involved in IP solutions as well as in traditional industrial environments. Therefore we know very well in which cases off the shelf IP technology can replace traditional synchronous communications and in which cases it simply can not.

Whenever it comes to microwave data transmission along gas pipes in Siberian ice, optical systems along railway tracks, industrial process control, public utilities' networks, reliable microwave rings, "99.999%" operators' networks, nuclear power plant control, and similar, we have an answer ready.

Ethernet interfaces are our standard and yet our equipment fully relies on all legacy interfaces. We cover the full range from E1, E3, STM-1, STM-4, STM-16, 10/100/1000 Ethernet to xWDM; both, on optical and microwave systems. Though synchronous, the platforms boast full linux operating system onboard, advanced web based management tools, even Engineering Order Wire SIP VoIP in-band telephony with advanced distributed soft-switch redundancy algorithms. Nobody else has it.

SparkLight  enables service providers to offer reliable, high performance, high-speed communications services such as LAN interconnection, Internet access, voice & data services, etc.
Various interfaces, many optional tributary modules and a high capacity cross-connect matrix capacity give an opportunity to set up effective multi-service communication node.

Integrated Ethernet L2 switch enables point-to-point and point-to-multipoint LAN traffic with traffic protection (on SDH or L2 switch level).

The management system with Java Web Start user interface, SNMP agent and OSPF router is built in. Consequently, no additional software except a PC with a web browser is needed to set up the telemanagement system.

High integration of SparkLight and SparkWave product line allows that building blocks of SparkLight equipment can be used for radio networks as well, thus reducing the spare parts required for deployment and maintenance of NG SDH mesh network.
